When Ryman Healthcare Retirement Villages entered the Australian market, they reached out to Tonkin + Taylor to help deliver their flagship project.
At due diligence stage, T+T provided an understanding of the ground-based risks involved and was contracted to carry out geotechnical, environmental, and hydrogeological assessments of the site. Additional groundwater investigations allowed the installation of a well for irrigation purposes, in line with Ryman’s sustainability objective.
With tight timeframes and a need for responsiveness throughout the development, Ryman adopted a pragmatic approach and afforded T+T much latitude to act in the project’s best interests. This allowed additional investigations to be expedited without incurring lead times and ultimately meant that quality data was delivered very promptly.
It helped Ryman Healthcare develop a quality project and the resort-style retirement village they’ve become known for. What’s more, the project also proved the value of T+T as a trusted consultancy partner who accurately interprets client needs and project requirements.
As a result, the client relationship has continued throughout the company’s subsequent developments with much success.
